Performance & Style

A tagine is a unique type of ceramic cookware that is used to insulate and slowly cook the food by steam. The large domed shaped cover allows the steam to circulate above and around the contents while cooking, thus infusing the dish with flavor and tenderness.

Take your family and friends on a world culinary tour, stopping to sample the exotic flavors, delicious vegetables and fall-off-the-bone meats cooked in this non stick ceramic Tagine. Over 150 years of Emile Henry craftsmanship go into the manufacturing of this colorful tagine, fired for durability under a Flame process. The unique lid facilitates self-basting for a flavor you won't soon forget.

To preserve the FinishDurability and Functionality:

  • Hand wash with hot soapy water for best care
  • Avoid using steel wool, steel scouring pads or harsh detergents
  • Do not use bleach when cleaning your Emile Henry Bakeware
  • You can use metal utensils, but we recommend wooden utensils
  • Store Properly - The bakeware should be carefully dried and stored with the lid slightly off-center, allowing for air circulation inside
  • The bakeware is designed for oven, microwave, broiler, grill and open flame to 750°F
  • Always use protective pot holders or oven mitts when handling hot ceramic cookware
  • When heated, the bakeware expands slightly. This occurrence creates small, thin cracks in the glaze. These small cracks are not a flaw, but are part of the Flame Cookware resisting temperature change and a sign of the cookware's endurance.

The Emile Henry Bakeware is suited for gas, electric, ceramic, glass and halogen stovetops and induction heat with an induction disc.

To season your new Emile Henry Bakeware, add about 1 inch of milk to cover the bottom of the dish. Let the milk simmer for 5 minutes. Remove the dish from heat and allow it to cool before cleaning.

Resistance Against Mechanical Shocks: With everyday use, there are many opportunities to bang your pots and pans. The quality bakeware by Emile Henry is particularly resistant to shocks. This ceramic cookware is even used in restaurants!

Resistance Against Temperature Changes:  This bakeware is able to withstand a wide variation in temperatures. The non stick ceramics allow you to take it directly from the freezer to a hot oven (+250°C/500°F).

Resistance Against Fading Colors: Heat, the dishwasher or sharp instruments will all have an ageing effect on a product. The glazes used by Emile Henry are particularly resistant to the dishwasher and destructive detergents.
